A New Day

Note: In a while I hope to get back to the series I was writing on, but I don't have the energy to put into research right now. Please enjoy my own study on some scripture I'm reading. I hope you have a blessed new day!

Today, as is every day we wake up, is a new day.  We get another chance to worship our Heavenly Father in the ways He has laid out that He wants us to worship.  He tells us of Himself in Exodus 34:6-7.  Here Moses had wanted to see Him and YHWH told him that no he couldn't see his face but he would hide him in the cleft of the rocks and declare to him who He is and let Moses see His back. We ought to take it to heart when YHWH has said who He is- because literally no one else can tell Him who He is:

YHWH passed before him and proclaimed, "YHWH, YHWH, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children's children , to the third and fourth generation."  (also referenced at Numbers 14:18, Jeremiah 30: 11)

He doesn't leave us wondering at all. He tells us clearly who He is. If you are a believer, who has come to this knowledge by finding out of Yeshua our Messiah, you must know Who it is we worship! There are not two gods but One ("Hear, O Israel: YHWH our God, YHWH is one! And you shall love YHWH your God with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might." Deuteronomy 6:4-5 which was incidentally told by Yeshua as the greatest commandment in Matthew 22: 36-38) Yeshua has come to do the will of His Father- the same who we ought to do the will of.

There is nothing mysterious here- and no new information that cannot be found by anyone who looks: Fear YHWH and worship Him- that is it. If we do that we will also do the second most important command: love our neighbors as ourselves (continue reading Yeshua's explanation in Matthew 22: 39-40. All Bibles have footnotes so you should be able to see where these come from because He used the Father's words- not His own).

So, here is how to get close to and worship :

There is no other way- no church membership, no amount of niceness and giving, no "being a good person" because really when we judge our goodness by our own standards, we fail. Just like a child who thinks ice cream is good to have for supper - we don't judge rightly because we are not wise in everything and can't see everything and didn't even create everything so it's beyond us to know what makes some righteous without asking the One who is wise and did create us and can see all things. He has given full instructions and even says it's not too hard to do, no matter what anyone else tells you ( "For this common which I am commanding you today, it is not too hard for you, nor is it far off. It is not in the heavens, to say 'Who shall ascend into the heavens for us, and bring it to us, and cause us to hear it, so that we do it?' Nor is it beyond the sea, to say, 'Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, and cause us to hear it, so that we do it?' For the Word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart- to do it."

So here it all is, laid out so easily. Here is who YHWH is and He deserves our love and adoration. Here is How we start to worship Him. Start your new day too!

Shalom!
